NorCAN’s STORY

Founded in 1999, NorCAN has helped hundreds of nonprofits across Northern California. Now a DreamMaker Project of the Ink People, we remain committed to empowering organizations with the tools, knowledge, and connections they need to succeed.

Maricela Aceves Wexler, Program Coordinator

Maricela is a Humboldt-based program coordination professional with over seven years of experience helping organizations collaborate, communicate, and get things done. With a background spanning nonprofit development, event coordination, and community engagement, she’s excited to put those skills to work for the tri-county region’s nonprofits and the community she gets to call home

NorCAN’s Steering Committee:

The NorCAN Steering Committee is a dedicated group of nonprofit leaders with deep expertise across sectors, organizations, and community interests. They’ve played a pivotal role in guiding NorCAN’s transition from the Humboldt Area Foundation to the ERV Community Center Foundation in early 2023, and the 2026 transition to the Ink People Center for the Arts. Since then, they have remained the driving force behind NorCAN’s evolution, ensuring it continues to be an essential resource, advocate, and connector for nonprofits throughout our region.
